Mmmkay...

I'll be back soon (hopefully). No promises. I first need to create a schedule so I can effectively get all my homework done while still being able to survive work and going to classes and hanging out with my boyfriend. So there is a possibility I don't update very often. I'm not entirely sure what that case will be as of yet, but when I've figured it all out, I'll send information your way.

On the other side of things, health has been a big issue of mine lately and it's starting to wear on me. I'm not the type to purposefully procrastinate, but it happens a lot because I can't focus easily thanks to my idiopathichypersomnia. I also have problems, thanks to this medical issue, remembering what I just read or even remembering what I've done in the day. As I tell others, I can tell you what I had for dinner on an obscure day a month ago, but I can't tell you what I had for lunch yesterday without thinking really, really hard. That's why I'm so frightened of this semester when it comes to Media Law. It's not a subject I'm extremely interested in and it's a subject I have to study over and over again in order to get it in my brain on a good day. Most of my days aren't that good, which means extra pounding to the like 10th degree. Plus, I'm always up late studying because I can't focus, which leads to lack of sleep, which leads to me getting sick like I did this weekend, which leads to more procrastination that was not intentional, which leads to me stressing out and rushing to get everything done, which leads to more late nights. I think you see the cycle. In any case, I'm making myself a schedule and I'm going or at least going to try my hardest to stick to this schedule so that I can have a successful semester.

For now, my goal is to get all my homework for my "main" classes (Choir, Law, Layout and Design, and Asian Philosophy) done over the weekend. This is basically just Law and Philosophy for right now. Layout and Design won't have homework/projects until the second half of the semester. Law is basically reading and filling out a study guide. Philosophy is basically reading and understanding terms and concepts before coming to class. Both have quizzes in the class. Law's don't hurt your grade, but the average of those quiz scores can replace your lowest test score and they're open-note quizzes, so why pass up a great opportunity? Philosophy's quiz scores can hurt your grade, but if you do bad on a quiz and go talk to him about the class on your own time, he'll give full credit for up to two of your lowest quiz scores. So it's very important to do this work, not only for the tests/papers, but also so I don't have to backtrack and visit my professors for "extra" credit or screw myself over and not have the luxury of replacing a low test grade or even not having to worry about the final. So my weekend will consist of reading/writing for Law and Philosophy, which will allow for me to use my week to work on Photojournalism and relax after work instead of rushing to get things done within a 3-4 hour time frame (assuming I finally sleep at a normal time).

I've already screwed myself over for this week since I got sick this weekend and was unable to do my homework for the week. So I'll be playing "catch up" all week. This means that tomorrow after work, I'll be reading and filling out the study guide for Wednesday's Law class. Then Wednesday will be my make or break day where I'm going to be working from the time I'm out of class (around 2) until bedtime (hopefully midnight) to get all the work for this week done plus at least half the reading for Photojournalism. So this will be a long reading for Friday's Law class, reading for two terms in Philosophy, and at least a chapter in Photojournalism. Seems easy, but it's deceptively long (blame the Law. 2 pages of reading can magically become 100 questions [don't ask]). Hopefully I'll be able to crack down and focus and be done early enough to see my boyfriend and hang out for a while (cross your fingers, please).

I've been losing weight lately. I'm down to 108 lbs the last I checked (last week, I think). It's kind of a scary thought since I eat like a pig and should technically be gaining weight. So I'm going to up my calorie intake and attempt to eat even more so that I can at least stabilize at 108 or possibly gain weight. I'm not asking to be 130 lbs, which is my supposed ideal, but so I'm not underweight or close to it would be quite nice.

So my goals before I can start back here are: making a schedule, increasing my calorie intake, exercising (although I weigh little, I'm severely out of shape), sticking to the schedule, and just trying to maintain a healthy, happy lifestyle.

Cheesy, yes. But we'll see what happens when I make the schedule. I think this is more than enough information for now, so I'm off to read some terms for Asian Philosophy before sleep! G'night!

Goodness...

I lied. Again. I've got nothing. I've just been completely unproductive and I'm just exhausted. I definitely need to put school work first right now, so I'm not going to probably put anything up until Monday. Tomorrow is always a possibility, but I'm not going to give a definite answer. I'm really sorry about flaking, but the concert is tomorrow then I won't have any more choir until next semester. I do hope everyone has a good weekend and I'll hopefully have something up soon.

Happiness,

Angela

Friday, November 13, 2009: I'm sorry, again!

I won't be posting anything again today. I'm really, really, really sorry. I'm hanging my head in shame, so you know. I've been so busy. I have two tests next week and a concert on Sunday. So I'm really just rushing around trying to get everything in order. Other than work, I didn't do a lot of strenuous activity today and when I got home after work, I just passed out because I was so tired. In any case, I'll hopefully have a bit of time tomorrow after work to get some shots done between studying and such. Anyways...I'll update tomorrow. I'll have something. I promise! Hope everyone had a great Friday the 13th!

Happiness,

Angela

Thursday, November 12, 2009: Oopsie daisy!

So I'm really sorry for skipping out on yesterday (and today as you'll find out). Yesterday, I was running around all day singing my brains out since our concert is Sunday. And then today I spent all morning working on my radio ads and then after class just sat on my butt since I haven't had much of a break in a while. SO! I do have 8 photos on my camera. They are nothing exciting, but I'll call this the dew and face-behind-the-camera and eye installment of Happiness a Day and I'll owe you two more photographs tomorrow (hopefully I'm cool enough to get it done). So without further ado, meet the dew on my car, my face, and my eyes.

Happiness,

Angela

Tuesday, November 10, 2009: Clouds, Buttons, Tucked Away Berries, Cleaning Up, Yellow Leaves

Clouds: I must admit that I love clouds. No matter what form they take, they're always fascinating to me. Puffy awesomeness.

Buttons: Come to find out that I'm one of those people who go through a hardware store like Lowe's and walk down the doorbell aisle for the sole purpose of pushing all the buttons even if they don't work. I think I tick a lot of people off that way, but how do you resist a button!? It's so...button-y!

Tucked Away Berries: I'll be honest. I wasn't sure what to call this. There's just so much I love going on here. Red berries. Contrasting leaf colors. Red/pink leaves. Berries almost looking safeguarded by leaves. It's just great.

Cleaning Up: The chore is never done. Yes. Those bags are full of leaves. And this is at least the second time they've raked that area alone. And leaves are still on the trees. I giggle at them. But there's something about those bags. They're just so appealing. Maybe because I want to rip them open to get to the leaves and then jump around in them?

Yellow Leaves: I'm not the most inclined to yellow. Don't get me wrong, I love all colors, but yellow is one that I'm just not fully in love with. Except in this situation. When leaves are yellow, they're gorgeous. Almost makes me feel rich.

Happy Tuesday! I will admit today was not my best day, but I survived and I didn't kill anyone. In any case, I do hope you enjoyed these. They were actually taken yesterday, which I'm glad I did, because it was way too wet today for me to feel comfortable carrying my camera around. I did get one shot though that I'll use tomorrow. However, as a little prelude to tomorrow, I think I'm going to take my camera with me to Wal-Mart. See what I can find there! Have a great evening!

Happiness,

Angela

Monday, November 9, 2009: Squirrel!, Red Berries, Graffiti, Leaves to Jump In, Sunset

Squirrel!: I love them. Their twitchy tails make me smile and the ones here are so friendly!

Red Berries: Not that the other colors aren't as awesome, but red is just so appealing to me. I love these little things!

Graffiti: I don't know what it means and it's not like some of the epic graffiti, but I love it all the same. The middle one looks like "Placebo" and the top is obvious, but I'm stumped on the bottom part, so if anyone recognizes it, do comment! I love this stuff.

Leaves to Jump In: You have to admit, fall is amazing because of the massive quantities of leaves. There's actually so many leaves that they're already gathering them to throw away and there's plenty of trees that have yet to shed a significant amount of leaves. Fall is epic here.

Sunset: I don't believe this really deserves an explanation. No one in their right mind cannot love sunrises or sunsets unless there's a horrible reason for it. They're just gorgeous. Always.

Welcome to the beginning of week 2 of Happiness A Day! Hopefully anyone who happens upon here is enjoying the photography. I so enjoyed taking the pictures, especially the puzzled looks of people who don't understand why I'm carrying a camera around with me to class. I'm enjoying not having or feeling the need to edit the pictures. I'm enjoying myself and I hope you are as well. Hope everyone has a great day!

Happiness,

Angela

Sunday, November 8, 2009: Random Findings, Cute Glasses, Looney Tunes, Bruises, Conquering Hunger

Random Findings: I was about to crack open Canterbury Tales and look what I found! An unfinished Sudoku puzzle. Now, I'm not a big Sudoku fan, but I love it when things like that happen.

Cute Glasses: I've always hated myself in glasses, but I do love these. I even wear them more often than I've ever worn glasses because I think they're cute. And to think I only spent $25 on them!

Looney Tunes: There's no way you can see that and not be happy. Bow down to the CartoonNetwork gods for sending us a Looney Tunes Marathon. BOW DOWN, I SAY!

Bruises: Not so much anything but how cool they look because it hurts quite badly. But how awesome are the colors? It's like a green-purple. How royal!

Conquering Hunger: Defeat, thy name is Sonic cheeseburger and fries! I like food, if you didn't know. And I love Sonic. If I didn't control myself, I'd eat there all the time. And I'd be fat. Very, very fat.

Well, this ends the first week of Happiness A Day. So far, I've had one comment and one follower (thank you ninja buddy!). So I'll emphasize. Please do comment. Even if you hate it. Even if you think it's the stupidest idea ever or that I'll fall on my face and fail. I want to hear it. Otherwise, I'll just keep chugging along and keep getting discouraged because no one told me how to improve. So please comment and invite others to see. It'd be greatly appreciated. Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and enjoyed this first week of Happiness A Day. Hopefully I'll have success this upcoming week. Have a good evening and see you all tomorrow with more photos!

Happiness,

Angela

SORRY!

I won't be posting anything today, but I will briefly tell you about my day.

Woke up and went to work. All went fairly well. We were busy, but it died down around 2 before we closed, so we were out within 15 minutes or so after 3. Then I came back to my apartment, took a shower, got all prettied up, and went to a dinner that work paid for without tip money. It was nice. I'm not extremely fond of some of the people I work with, but it was nice to socialize a bit, but I'm now exhausted and contemplating going to bed early. Hope everyone had a great Saturday!

Happiness,

Angela

Friday, November 6, 2009: Soft Things, Shoes, Pretty Oopsies, Damselflies, Black and White

Soft Things: I'm always happy by soft things. Not just to touch, but to look at.

Shoes: I love shoes and I love seeing other peoples' shoes. Because...it makes me happy to see shoes. I'm a total shoe fiend. Like my shoes?

Pretty Oopsies: I always like it when I aim for something and it doesn't happen, but it still turns out pretty and interesting.

Damselflies: I love damselflies. I think they're beautiful. I could be surrounded by a flock of them all the time.

Black and White: I love black and white photos, especially of nature. I think of a wedding when I see this one I took.

Apologies for using non-current photos. The Black and White and Damselfly and Shoes photographs I did not take today. I suppose I could do a "blast from the past" on Fridays, but the reason I did it like this today was because I've been a little too preoccupied with other things today to really do any photography and I apologize for my personal life affecting me too much. The purpose of this is to list 5 things that made me happy every day. This isn't it and it's a failure on my part. I'll try to avoid this in the future. Well, the first week of Happiness A Day is almost up. I do hope you've enjoyed it so far and I do hope this weekend goes well. Have a great day! Go Pokes!

Happiness,

Angela

Thursday, November 5, 2009: Reflections, Half-Turned Leaves, Pain, An Abundance of Flowers, More Abstract Art

Reflections: I think reflections are one of my favorite natural occurrences of all time. I love them. Until they reflect in my eye. Then it hurts.

Half-Turned Leaves: I like how it's like the tree isn't sure if it's ready to give up its leaves yet. It's almost pleasantly awkward.

Pain: One of the things I love about pain is that it lets you know that you're still real. I must note though, I didn't do this to myself. I accidently cut myself on a tea urn at work. Only I can accomplish something like that (which I might add that I love as well).

An Abundance of Flowers: One thing you will find as this blog progresses is that I love nature, especially flowers. I just find happiness out of all flowers. Big, small, colorful, ugly, and so on. There's a comfort here.

More Abstract Art: As I said in the last entry, I love art, especially abstract like this. It's thought provoking and I love thinking.

Here's the end of Day 4. It's been difficult keeping up with pictures, but do-able as long as I have the motivation and because of certain circumstances right now, I don't have the exact motivation I need. I will certainly manage though. Hope everyone had a lovely Thursday. See you tomorrow.

Happiness,

Angela
